The Right Location

DSN9118-2-MThere are two places I hate to be… hospitals and nursing homes. In the past weeks I have spent considerable time at both.

My dad went to the hospital with a severe urinary tract infection. His chances were not good but he responded to medication and progressed. He spent sometime in the hospital and then was moved to a rehab unit in a long-term care facility.

Although he is making some progress, very slowly, he will never return to the condition he was in before the infection. In fact, there is a major concern that when the antibiotics have run their course the infection will return; which will be fatal.

The two locations I dread were made bearable by dad’s most important location – he is ‘in Christ’. He has received grace (1 Cor. 1:4); he has been recreated (2 Cor. 5:17); and he has hope (1 Cor. 15:22 and 1 Thes. 4:16).

Dad, and we, his family, have hope. To be ‘in Christ’ is the one location that supersedes all other locations and guarantees the very best final destination. Every other place is temporary.
